But I think GM is now a "Buy". I sat with a GM senior engineer on my flight to Istanbul and he told me some details of their upcoming GM Vault: http://www.chevrolet.com/electriccar/ - GM may make a Turkish style comeback with it, I was impressed!

Emre,
Were there anything specific that impressed you? Share more, this is interesting.

Sure. The idea is you don't ever need to use gas if your office is about 20 miles away from your home. The car uses regular household plug, so you just charge it at night and you're done for the next day. But of course, if you need, you can still switch to gas and go as far as you want.

It sounds very environmentally friendly. Also even more economic than commuting. Although it may boost house prices in urban areas as an externality.

The guy said, our only hope is Volt now, otherwise GM will die! They're aware of it, so they work hard. The car is almost ready but it may take up to 2 years to prepare the assembly line, he said.

Emre,
Moving people to urban areas is actually very good for the environment. Much less waste traveling short distances in the city.

Nontheless, the idea for the car is fantastic.
